Get Active this Summer

Residents city-wide are being encouraged to get moving and take part in the 'Get Active Glasgow' challenge which runs until 30 September 2021.

The free to join programme operated by BetterPoints promotes healthier, more environmentally friendly lives by encouraging people to walk, run, and cycle more often - offering a great opportunity to get active and enjoy the summer months.

A free BetterPoints app allows participants to earn points for their activities that can be donated to charity or exchanged for high street vouchers.

Richard McShane, founder of the Phoenix Community Centre in Easterhouse, which was involved in a pilot for the project, said: "We are really excited to be part of the 'Get Active Glasgow' challenge.

"This challenge fits really well with our goals and ethos, to give people of all ages and abilities a chance to thrive, an opportunity to experience new things and combat social isolation, and will give our community another great reason to be active. What's not to like about being rewarded for getting fit and staying active."

To take part, users can download the BetterPoints app and register their details. Participants will then be added to the 'Get Active Glasgow' challenge and can use the BetterPoints app to track active journeys which will enable users to earn rewards.
